The Cinder Grill communicates through its LCD screen and the light-up ring around the control knob.  When something is going wrong, the Cinder will communicate this in two ways: by displaying an error message on the screen, and by lighting up in red the ring around the control knob.  However, please note that the ring around the control knob also turns red when the Cinder is at searing temperature. When the ring is red please check the LCD screen for a corresponding message to determine the cause.

Here is a list of possible error messages:

Top Plate Detached

Bottom Plate Detached

All Plates Detached

Plates Too Hot

No resp rly brd

If any of these alerts are displayed and the advice listed here does not help, please follow these steps:

1) Document the issue. The cooking temperature when the issue happened, whether the Cinder was under manual control or the App, the model of phone used, and any other pertinent details.

2) Contact us at help@cindergrill.com  for assistance.

for this one you are missing the fact that when the cinder is ready to sear the ring is red, so right now as it is written this article will confuse people into thinking their unit is damaged when it is ready to sear
